I work for an air compressor company and right next door is a turbo shop. The owner has a old style supra set up for drifting. We made a hinge and put it on it and they sweet. I am thinking about making a kit for my 98 gs. Was just wondering what anyone else thought, and if there would be a demand for a bolt on kit alot cheaper then Decah or Autoloc. Prolly around $600.

I agree with ^^^. I think it's a waste.

the only lambo doors i like are the ones that open normal and up. that way you dont look like an idiot gettin outta your car at mcdonalds or something...

I like but I would like mine to open both ways...

I like mine! I'm happy with em. Not too happy about the little modification I had to do in order for them to work. It's a VDC kit. Oh yeah, sure, it's direct bolt on. I also had to cut a notch in my wheel well in order for this shock holder to sit ok, and for the fender to sit flush with the rest of the car. I will post pics a little later of what I'm talking about. Now i just have to put the whole interior back in. I'm doing some fiberglassing and such. I will also post pics of that later. Here is a pic of my doors up.

P.S. Mine also open up both ways. :D

It's a very simple process. It's just a dual acting hinge, it has to open out then up. The only way to do it. Lamborghini's open straight up becuase the body is so wide and the cab is very narrow. It has real wide fenders and the clearnece to let the door open straight up.

Honestly, I'm more concerned with my engine. It's currentlt in the shop getting dipped and bored. Just thought i would throw the question out and see what people think.

yeah OK NOOB...u sure as hell are a noob....

We already have a prototype built. It's just a matter of trying to make it work for a 2g eclipse. It might require 1 hole being drilled, but then again, if you want to bolt anything under your fender you will need to drill holes. At most it will be 6 little holes for bolts to hold the hinge and the lift support unit. When I put it on my car, i will take pics so that anyone who wants it will have step by step directions for it.

Do it. Show us how they look and hook us up with a pretty good price 450 price range.

i agree.... make them ,put them on the eclipse, show us all the pics, step by step instructions, and hook 2gnt up with a sweet price... you'll have your demand.

I hope ShockEclipse still comes out with theres and this guy fallows through....It would be interesting to compare the differences in the hinge, lifting strut and the way that it mounts. plus might make prices a little more competitive. Right now i still think i will be going with shockeclipse's hinge.....unless the other one is superior or a better deal

Well...mine wont be out this month, prolly not for a few months. So if you want it soon, go ahead and go with his. I'm taking my time so mine is easy to install and works properly. I also want to make sure that it will work for a proven time, not just a few times and have the lifts go out of it.

Even though mine should be out this month we are still going to be testing it. The earliest I really would want to sell them would be around the shootout.
