411 = info. he wants good info.

Heres how i did mine:
Buy a heat gun.
Heat the silicon that bonds the headlight lens to the housing.
As it heats up, it turns into a very HOT goo.
Take a flathead screwdriver and wipe away the goo.
Do this around the whole headlight.
Pull apart the lens from the housing.
Unscrew the ornage reflector and take it out.
Reattach the lens to the housing by using new silicon.

Others have done it by placing the headlight in the oven rather than using a heatgun, but i dont have much info on that.

lol speaking of family questioning your sanity for putting things in the oven...i was painting some parts last time i was home, and stuck them in the oven to cure the paint. my mom was like "whats the burning smell?" aww, nothing mom, just some parts in the oven curing. she was like " ummm, ok..." haha. i need to do this, and paint my housings, but im afraid ill either a) dysfigure the lights, or b) have a leaky headlight cuz i didnt get it resealed.

I did it the oven way; it worked like a charm...

Just follow nappyjim's guideline; the only difference is that instead of using the heatgun just place the headlights (I wouild recommend 1 at a time) in the oven for about 15-20 minutes at about 350ยบ. (Yes! I know; that sounded like a foodnetwork recipe)...
Anyways...MAKE SURE THOUGH that you remove those metalic clips that hold the 'housing' of the headlight with the headlight's clear 'front' cover BEFORE placing them into the oven (I don't remember well... but I think there are 5 or 6 of them); along with the bulbs AND the bulb covers. (Yeah the big rounded grey caps)
And... if I where you; also take out carefuly that thingy that helps you level the headlight (with its clear-plastic cover... I don't know about the rest of you guys but mine melted)

Once they are in the oven check them from time to time (like if the headlights where cookies-(?)- hehehe). Then split them apart (like nappyjim told ya... etc...)

OPTIONAL---> Once you've placed the fresh silicone, if you want, you can place the headlights back in the oven for a couple of minutes so the silicone "melts" and fits in tighly into the HL's. Then mount everything back on (the clips, level thingy with its cap, etc, etc, etc....)

ALSO OPTIONAL ---> Once your done you might wanna buy some nice "hyper-white" or whatever-white-bulbs... the stock ones tend to look yellowish.

Just please try (at least try) not to get those ricey green/violet or pinky-fuschia bulbs... as for the rest; your ride will do and look just fine!

Oh... and... Good Luck! :thumbsup

15-20 minutes!!! I left mine in for only 5 minutes at 250, didn't melt anything. After all said and done, I put them back in the oven for the same amount of time to re-seal them with the orginal silicone and 8 months later, no leaks!!!

Heheheh...
No wonder why my level thingy melted. :rolleyes
But That was 'bout it. I never had any leaks either. So FULLxExCIPZ; there you go... start off with 5 minutes. If you can't pry open the HL's with 5 minutes into the oven at 250 then add 5 minutes more... etc... etc... 'til you're able to open them up.

i was reading something about the headlights being taken off to get to the orange-yellow reflector...and it also said in order to take the headlights off you gotta take the whole front bumper off...is there a way to do it without having to do all the work with the whole front bumper???

like i said in your other post, you dont need to take off the bumper. stick a flathead between the headlight and the bumper, press down to get yourself enough room to get off the bolt that holds down headlight...you gonna need a pretty long extension

Remove the bumper the right way the first time if you want to:

www.rcaz.com >look for the picture our local AZ guy has there about the bumper removal.

You remove the amber lens in the turn signal with a couple small philips head screws. You might want to consider painting the housings too. It's what I did.

I've done at least 3 sets of headlights like this. You can bake them at 350 for about 5 minutes, but make sure the clips are off and the bulbs are out. Also, leave the caps for the bulbs off too. They can warp easily. Just heat them up and press them bcak together. They shouldn't fog or leak at all. If they do, pull it out, bake and repress them. Works like a charm.

You can do it and they always look awesome when your done. Especially with ricey fucsia bulbs. :P j/k
