68957, gutted the trunk last night
Posted by nightwolf2369, Mar-17-04 11:13 AM
i got tired of my custom audio set-up so i sold my amp to a friend and gutted it for awhile. it looks cool gutted with just the rear strut bar. anyways i am gonna buy some more stuff then i will redo the system. i had 1 audiobahn 12" and a 500w Memphis amp. I am think of cutting out the spare tire support buying another 12" and running a 1000w audiobahn amp with the 2 audiobahn 12". anyways just sharing with the brotherhood.

Yeah, I don't care...lol...J/K. but I'll respond anyway. Beware when putting an enclosure in the spare well...water gets down in there if you've got any kind of leak, or just heavy condensation. I'm sure there are ways around this. I was just going to cut out the entire spare well, and weld in a flat panel with some structural panel underneath it. Maybe, If I get bored this summer I'll actually do it.

I cut mine out with a 4" grinder. but you can also drill out the welds that are holding it in.

That's what I'll do when the time comes. Quick and easy. Just be sure to sand down and prime/paint over the bare metal so it doesn't rust later.
