I want to paint my car a color so that the CF won't stand out quite as much...i thought about black but a greyish black might be best...
opinions on painting also welcome
basicaly I want to leave the hood and fenders unpainted but have a "clean" look

I painted my car stock black but put a whole thing of pearl and people ask me if my car is carbon fiber, no shit.


Can't help you much but just thought I'd tell you.

Go to a paint store they have swatches you could take out to your car and check it out

can you be more specific about how much pearl and what brand... and how much did it cost? did you get the door jams, engine bay, and hatch jams painted?

just get all your body peices in cf and paint your top black....squidskins imo

What if someone doesn't have $8000 to spend on body parts, eh? :P

P.S. - Not the mention the unibody parts...

dude, just paint your cf parts red and go stealth.

you could do a red clearcoat over the carbon, maybe that would blend it in better?

Agreed, my hommade fiberglass hood I painted to match my car with PPG

I had a custom mix made to paint my roof "carbon fiber" black. He used a standard black, silver metallic, and copper metallic, brown pearl. It just looks black until its in direct sunlight.I may post pics later.Honestly I would leave your car as it is.Unless you do a complete color change to black. Get your windows tinted darker.

i was at a porsche showroom the other day and the black metallic they use looks SICK, it'd probly match real nice

yeah, i got a quote the other day for 1500... that was to paint all the red that is visible with doors/trunk/hood open and a custom color that would match the CF (doesn't include painting the hood/fenders/front bumper) if i do this i will find a cf front bumper too...

but all this has been put on hold b/c this morning i ordered 13" baer brakes for the front and aem big brake kit for the rear...

so next year after i go stage 3 i might get it painted...

I think your car looks hot how it is. Everyone wants the clean, stock look. I say leave the carbon fiber, its different and looks good at the same time.
