68515, OEM Style Fog Lights Installation on a 97 RS Eclipse Posted by noboost4you, Mar-11-04 10:26 AM
I recently just bought a complete kit of Pilot OEM Style Fog Lights to install on my 97 RS Eclipse. When I began installing the lights, I noticed a long, plastic shield that is directly behind the front bumper, in front of the radiator, and blocking the holes that I needed to mount these lights.
My question is, how can I remove that plastic shield? I have never taken the front bumper off my car, but I've heard it is no easy task. Maybe I am hearing wrong?
I don't need to take the shield off completely, I just need to take it all off right now so I can cut and trim it to where I can access the holes for mounting the lights.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I have Pilot projectors on my 98 RS. Try this page out for help. There's a tech topic for correctly removing your 2G bumper.

Here are some pics I took for a fog lamp question a few month ago.
Notice how far back the fog lamps are mounted in the hole. This allows easier adjustment and also allows you to access the cover retainer screw.
