Personally I am happy with these. I have heard rumors about them burning out fast tho.. Is this true.

I've never had 'em, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. I got tired of dealing with burnt out bulbs every couple of months - just get an HID conversion kit. I'll have mine on Monday - I figured I've probably spent enough money on cheap hyperwhites (not SilverStars) that I could have bought another conversion kit.
ps. Bullox - awesome avatar. I gotta have more cowbell, baby!!!!!!!!

I've had mine for over a year so far and they still haven't burned out. Nothing compared to the HID kit when I had it but the silverstars have been by far the best halogen bulb that I've had.

Checker auto sells them. 9005 and 9006 are the styles for DSMs (high and low beams, respectively). I paid about 40-50 bucks a pair. Definitely the best halogen you can buy for the buck IMO.

They light up the road a whole lot better than the stock bulbs. They also give off a nice white light.

I definately like mine as well. As the driver the only way you can really see the difference is to ride right beside another car with regular lights. I also get a lot of comments from people saying that they are bright. As for being super bright...nah. I can't wait to get my evo kit back so I can have my massive k.c. daylighters! }(}(}(

On a side note, if you don't feel like popping that kind of dough for lights and don't mind changing the odd burned out bulb after 6 months or so, you might pass up on the eBay fare and hit Target. I got a pair of the generic "hyper blue" bulbs for Sarah's car there for like $15. They look good, they're nice and bright, and if they burn out, I'd say you go buy another pair, put the bad one in the box and take it back for a refund. Big retail is in the business of making the customer happy.
I'll see how long these last from personal experience. They've been in over a month now and look really good imo. Screw buying expensive bulbs that don't last a year. I learned my lesson with some APCs I bought that didn't last 4 months. Been buying the cheapness ever since.
The only other bulbs I would recommend would the PIAAs. I bought a $75 pair of DOT SAE compliant hyper whites (so they're just super bright white, not blue at all) and used them for about 3 months. Gave them to Uberingram for his Eclipse and he's had them in there for over a year now. Still work flawlessly. PIAA = teh quality.
Yeah, I'm a light nerd imo. :P
