I searched and found out that the headlight fuse can blow if you turn on the headlights while the foglights are on. I have my fogs wired to turn on with the parking lights - should I be able to leave them on when I turn the headlights on, since the fogs have already drawn power? I'll have my kit on Monday, and thought I'd prepare for any problems. Also, will hitting the high beams blow a fuse when the HIDs are already on? How about when all lights are off and you pull the light lever (all four bulbs firing together). I don't know if this has ever been brought up. Thanks in advance!!

just rewire your fogs with a relay, problem solved. shouldent draw enough current to trip your fuse

Rewire the fogs. Hitting the high beams while the HIDs are on won't blow the fuse. Also, just flashing your lows and highs when nothing is on won't blow it either.

the HID's just cause a very brief current spike when they initially turn on. so if you combine that with turning on the fogs its enough to blow the fuse. just make you fogs on a separate switch or come one with the parking lights. also i've noticed that occasionally if i start the car w/ the HIDs on one side sometimes goes out. this's just due to the massive current draw of the starter though. even though full power returns to the HIDs after starting, the HIDs need to be re-'ignited' by turning them off and on again. no big deal.

How much and where did you guys get these kits? I'm ditching the stock fogs soon (fmic issues) and the stock lights suck!!! I can't see shit...

MCubed, when you said one side doesn't turn on, that doesn't mean a fuse blew, right? I guess it's like trying to light a lighter twice to ignite?

yup exactly! haha i was just gonna use that analogy to explain it but i got tired of typing... it like a standard (non zippo lighter). you ignite it and hold the button. if you blow it out the fuel is still comin out but it hasta be 're-ignited'. when you start the car with the HID's already on it's basically like blowing out the flame.

but as far as fogs and HIDs turned on at the same time - that could actually blow a fuse. b/c it's drawing a very large current simultaneously through what's normally intended for only regular ligths and fogs. HID's initally draw much more current than halogens but once they're on they consume less energy.

Yeah, I went with the Hanabi 8000K. I took a look at the kits on misterjung that you had mentioned to me, and I thought I'd try the Hanabi first. I like the 'blue' look, but if it's too much, I'll end up buying one of the kits from jung and sell the Hanabi. I just got tired of having to replace those cheap-ass "xenon" bulbs that everyone seems to love. They look cool as hell, but you can't see sh*t with them.
