I have a huge supply of Plexiglass/Lexan at my disposal.....thin to thick. I first thought about this when I got my car. I tried to trace the bottom of the bumper blah blah blah.....now I've got a waaay better Idea. Point being in the next couple days(since she's getting slammed on FRIDAY!!!!) I'm gonna be putting this together. I've seen that some have been made into 2 pieces? Makes sense if 1 side breaks then you only replace that one. I'm am using the original bracket that is on the bottom with the holes.

Anyone seen anypics of something like this? I know the 97'+ come down from the bumper a bit and have a lip.....(like shuwa29) anyways For mine I was thinking just a flat lip coming right of the bottom.....Any Ideas People?

If you use a durable material, you dont have to make it in two pieces. Because the flat lip doesnt reduce ground clearance, the chances of breaking it are slim. Ive been driving with mine for almost all of last summer and all winter and its still in perfect shape.

Just a word of advice, the 95-96 bumpers are not very flat on the bottom which doesnt set up well for a flat lip. It will stick up a little too much I think. Also, if you are cutting it by hand, it will take a long time to get perfect. The one I have on my car is hand cut, it took hours of sanding to get it as round as possbile and if I look close enough I can still see small imperfections. We get all the lips we sell cut on a waterjet to make sure they are perfect.

Actually that was what I was thinking. (watercut) A sign company I know uses one of these to cut plexi letters and stuff. I just need to give them a vector image with all the proportions correct and he can cut it for me. then and there.....

YEa I'm gonna prolly work on it this weekend. Once I have the shape and everything perfect, I'll start a group buy or something. Mass production (I mean like 20-30) would be easy and take only a couple hours.....I'll keep all the smileys updated!

cool... id like to see how this goes.. may be some good interest in this.. i at one time wanted to make something similar, but more rugged like to make it out of metal, but not so much of a lip coming out infont of the car like those other lips..

Well, I took the pictures today, of the bottom of the bumper. I took a bunch of measurements also and I can see it Now!!! Tomorrow I'm gonna get to work on the computer and get everything to a T!

Blizare's car is a Talon I think. Your bumper doesn't look like the 95-96's though. Hmm :shrug

Yea mines a Talon. Yours is 97+ buddy....Anyways, Today I got a lot of shit done and out came the first prototype!!!!! I will post a new thread when I upload the pics!!

wow im an idiot i didnt even notice ur was a talon i just figured it was a eclipse cause i havent seen any for talons 95-96 but yeah mines a 97 and i didnt think the eclipse on works on it so is there one for the talon 97-99? yeah definitly put up some pics asap im intrested in seing this on the car

This car is made up of lawn gaurd, hot glued leather, randomly placed neons and sheet rock screws to hold down a shifter plate

yeah i know, i was just showing that it had been done before to the 95-96 and what it looked like.
