Alright, most of you know i want to remove my graphics, but before i do i want to know what products i will need to restore that shine it had after it was painted. I know that my paint has faded, and under the graphics will look brand new, i just need to know what i can buy that will help match the two as best as possible. Also, i would like to know where i can find red vinyl that would match the color of my car, r87 of course. Id like to remove my wing for the time being to see if i like the look and i dont want the holes there. Thanks for your help!

your going to need a new paint job under those grafix. most likely when you peel them off youll be taking the clear coat off the top.

no but have you ever peeled off a sticker and had the resedue left over? not to mention your car is red and no doubtedly whats underneath the sticker is a darker red

rubbing alcohol takes away the residue, all i really need to know is a good polish to buy in order to match the paints up as much as possible..thats really all im asking and i dont need you to tell me things i already know

turtle wax has a specific wax to match colors if i remember right

I used to be a professionally detailer and let me just say I could write a book on restoring a "showroom shine".

It's most likely your paint won't be visibly faded if you've been taking care of your car.

However, once the graphics are removed, wash your car GOOD, mabey twice. Use a polishing compound across the entire car, concentrating where you need to blend, then use a glazing compound to remove the fine scrathes and give your car that "wet" look. Finally protect it all w/ a nice coat of wax.

If you like graphics and want to make them look good, clear coat your car after you put them on and you prep the body.

I had racing stripes on my car for 2 years in the florida sun and when I took them off there was a bad fading, but I got my 7inch buffer and a good buffing compoint and a carnuba wax and got it off and you cant see them! So you CAN get the fading to go away

Ok I JUST got done doing this on mine. Removed the checkers you see in my sig pic, as well as a ton of em along each door/skirt (wiseco/few other big stickers...)

Just heat everything up wtih a hair dryer or heat gun, peel it all off as fast as you feel comfortable, without tearing the vinyl (pain in the ass because you'll have to pick up an edge again) but really use your judgement. (If its really stuck on there I guess you could damage the paint but... I personally had no problems once it was all heated up.)

If you leave any residue behind, you'll want to get Goof Off II, mine was in a spray bottle. It's water based, says it won't harm clear coats. It doesn't. Just spray it on, let it sit for maybe 30 seconds then scrub with the "rough" side of a dish sponge. I was extra paranoid and always hosed the car down for a good 2-3 minutes following a scrubbing session. Absolutely no carnage whatsoever. But I've got silver paint, might be a little more forgiving than red will. Hopefully you wont have any fading... Prolly depends on how long you've had the bukkakke stains on your car?

You may need someone who has experience with the rotory buffer to bring the paint back.
