67040, Aftermarket Sunroof Question
Posted by scothern, Feb-17-04 08:22 AM
Okay, when I bought my car I told the dealership I wouldn't buy it unless they put in a power, top sliding sunroof. Well they did and I really am not sure if that was good or not. Its not stock, its an aftermarket, power roof. It works but it has no sliding shade, and it is loud as f*ck!

What I'm wondering is how hard would it be to put a factory sunroof in now that they cut a hole in the roof of my car? I have had the car for about 3 years and it hasn't leaked or caused any problems. Just want that factory sliding shade and look, you know. Anyone got any idea if this is possible.

theres a lot of modification that would have to go into that. The eclipses with a factory sun roof have the metal rolled around the opening and some of the mechanic of the sunroof mount to it. the hole you have now with either have to be the exact size and no larger, or smaller than the factory sunroof so you could get it to fit right.

well his didnt come with a shade because it wasnt stock. if your sunroof is OEM then it probably just got ripped off cuz all OEM sunroofs came with a shade.

like ^^ said, unless its the exact size, your gonna have serious probs. at times iv thought about just a pop up sunroof...but even those i dont know about.
