Has anyone had a problem with projectors and upgraded bulbs? I don't have the money right now for HID, but I want a whiter, brighter light. I've heard about melting the headlight, but I don't know if that was true or not. Any ideas?

I've had mine for two years with no problems. I upgraded the bulbs with polarg's.

I've heard wonderful things about the Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. I think theyre like 60 for a set.

if you want a great bulb for both brightness and true white look go with the Nokya bulbs. they all models of bulbs... lows, highs, and fogs. (they fit perfect in stock headlights as well as aftermarket projectors) i ran the silverstar's in my stock lights before the nokya's and they dont even compare. on top of lacking in intensity, the silverstars cost 20.00 a bulb (40.00 for each set) while the nokya's are between 20.00 and 30.00 a set depending on where you buy them from. you can prob even find them for less than i listed. i was contemplating switching to projector headlights but i've got more than enough intensity now with only changing the bulbs. save the $$ unless of course u just want to do anyways for the appearance. hope this helps.

I already have the projectors, and I'm using blue bulbs but they're the same wattage as the factory ones, so they aren't very bright. That's why I was asking if I upgrade to a higher wattage bulb if it will melt my headlights.

well if you switch headlights, I'll buy the ones you have :)

I used to run 100 W blue bulbs, but they didn't last for more than a month before they burnt out. They never melted the projectors though. I run Silverstar's now, they are just as bright as the 100 W blue bulbs and appear to be lasting for awhile. I highly recomend them. I think they were like $30 for a pair of them not $60.

Ive been running 100W H3 purple Nokya bulbs for over six months now and they still havent burnt out on me, and neither has the lens. Still cant see for shit in the rain at night, i hear if you get dual projectors you can still use the normal 9006 bulbs and not the shitty H3.

ypu that's true. dual projectors = stock bulbs. the 9006 bulbs are just brighter than the h3's.

I can't even seem to find dual projectors anymore. I found some on ebay a couple of weeks ago when I started looking, but now I don't see any more. Anyone know about the dual projector halos?

projectors suck for any type of lighting ... SonnyBk has the with HID those work

Nokya bulbs suck ass imo. I have them and stock is a million times better. If i wasnt getting HID's i would put the stock bulbs in.

i still say that if you're simpy looking for a increase in brightness you should go with the nokya 100W bulb. i believe if you look at either the packaging or on the bulb they say 80W so i dont think you'll have any trouble with melting any part of your light. i forgot to add earlier that i'm using the 9006 & 9005's and they are brighter than the H3 version. mine have been running great for almost 4 months now and i'd never go back to stock.
