I've seen the center vent pods, and I really liked them. I wanted to retain my center vents though because they're pretty much the only ones that do anything. I decided to make my own, and here is the progress from stock to done.

People wouldn't pay what I would want to charge them. Too much fabbing to make them you can't just make a mold of it because it still uses the vent.

You have room to put your defrost and hazard switches back in too if you wanted.

I was going to do that, but those holes aren't easy to make, plus I'd have to paint the buttons to match and apply decals to them. Instead I am going to use a valet switch and a mini toggle and remote mount them. Probably put the valet switch in the HVAC surround to control the defrost, and the mini toggle on the steering column to control the hazards.

Looks pretty good. I was gonna do the same, except I was only going to put one gauge in it and I was gonna use the right side of it. But that was before I got rid of the 2gnt.

Damn thats cool. Could you have fit the two gauges between the stock switches and the vent?

looks really nice.. but I'm confused.. what the hell is that material? I mean, did you just use your stock trim and fill the holes and then cut away? just curious..

Two gauges would not have fit between the stock switches and vent, the piece isn't tall enough for that. I was going to move the def switch to the lower hole that isn't used, and put the hazard button in the blank space above the lower gauge. That looked like it was going to be too much trouble, and would have been a little crowded in my opinion. It was just easier to use smaller switches and remotely mount them.

I cut out the drivers side vent, and all around the stock switches just leaving the outer frame. Then I glued in a piece of ABS the same size as the hole that was left, and glassed over it. Then a lot of finish work.
