66276, couple quick questions Posted by willmayo, Feb-04-04 07:15 AM
First of all, i just got new euro clear bumper lenses cuz i destroyed my old ones. I've had them on for just over a week, and low and behold... one of them fogs up. I was thinking i could re seal them with some clear silicone. My question is: will that work and make it stop fogging up? This is what i get for buying APC parts. Here's a pic:
I'm going to get those chrome bulbs, but its too cold right now and i dont really care that much, just wanna solve the fogging issue before that water starts to get dirty and become a REAL pain in my ass.
Second of all, I got a new carbon fiber hood, again because I destroyed my stock hood and the body shop felt generous. Anyway the two vents are backed with a mesh grille which was painted black. The paint, however was chipped off in some areas when the hood came in. I could bitch to the shop that i ordered the hood from but its not that big of a deal. The mesh is fastened with some small pieces of metal bent over the mesh (shitty description i know). Basically they're easy to remove. So what should I do about it? Leave it chipped off? Repaint them black? or color match them to the car? Either way how can i prevent them from chipping off again or can I at all? Here's another pic:

TIA!

tape it off and repaint it if it bothers you as far as the hood goes...I had the same problem with my clear lenses but on one side it got so bad that the water inside made the chrome background turn yellow and start to come off...I just cut the lense open and painted the inside the same color as my car so it just has the clear outer lense. Resealed it and siliconed that bitch up nice..I really like how it looks.

Yeah i'm worried about them turning colors if the fog stays there too long. Do you have pics of your lenses, that sounds like it would look sweet. Let me see!

Here it is...cars dirty paint scrapped on front end...perils of driving :shrug But she looks nice when she's in the right light and is clean...but here it is the one pic i have of it.
And I actually want to go and paint the white around the bulb blue to blend in more. I have blue LED's in there.
