Is there a way to slow down the signal flashing???

And no, my bulbs are all fine, none are burned out. I just want to slow down the flash rate...

yeah if it's going any faster than any other car out there you have a burned out bulb somewhere

add water to your blinker fluid to confuse the bulbs.

like slower than stock or slower than they are going currently? you can always replace your flasher with a slower one. or change the load on the flasher with a resistor. (series increases load, parallel decreases)

Our flasher unit ia an electrical one isn't it? It's also integrated with the hazard lights..hmm

What's the point of doing this anyhow? You want them to be fast so they catch people's eye. The speed they are now is a DOT approved speed. I think if you get in an accident and they find you altered your flasher speed they may find you at fault.

i think increasing resistance made them blink faster.. i forget how it works. but you figure when a bulb burns out it's like infinite restitance through that part of the circuit. that makes them blink fast. when you swap incadescants for LED's the LED's draw less current which implies a higher resistance (V=IR). that makes them blink fast too. so yea our flasher varies with load. they sell ones that act inedepdantly though. those're the kind that you need to swap in if you wanted to do a sequential tailight. that's probably what you wanna look for. the sequetinal tailight requires that the lights stay on much longer when flashing so there's enough time for the full sequence to display before the flasher turns off the sequential unit and starts over again.

do a search on sequential tailights on the web and see what flashers they recommend.

I took out my 'flasher signal box' and changed the capacitor on them to make em faster...this was like way back in the days when it was cool to have fast blinkers. My brother did it on his civic so I was cool too doing it to my car. I tried undoing it, but coulnd't figure out the stock capacitance, so I'm just gonna get the stock one off my friend's GST. I hate my fast blinkers - they'll cut your bulb life in half

That's right, I'm gonna do the sequential taillight. But what flasher can I get that works with our cars?

awesome automotive electrical forum. you can learn how to build your own sequential flasher if you like from there. should cost like $20 or something. just a bunch've relays and capacitors. they'll prolly be able to tell you what flasher to look for.
