65255, What color for my "new" side skirts?
Posted by micyek, Jan-16-04 07:38 AM
I just aquired some 95-96 TSi side skirts and planed to have them color matched to the rest of the car. But as I was pulling them out of the box I had a brainstorm....what if I had them painted grey or gun metal? I have a set of 16" wheels that I'm going to have re-powder coated to gun metal really soon and I have a grey interior so I think it might look cool. If I get the wheels powder coated first and then have the paint shop match the sides to the wheels it would probably come out pretty clean looking. But I want a little in-put on what you guys think.

TIA! :thumbsup

i dunno if you got a place to powdercoat those rims yet but i got the ones on my avenger done up at a place called southwest sandblasting. It kinda off burton right by 131. they sandblasted and powdercoated my rims for $40/rim. might help you out if you didn't find something better yet. they got em done in 2 days too.

Please, *please* keep the body of your car one color. There's a Honda Civic/Prelude/Integra (not sure which, didn't pay a huge amount of attention to the model) that had sideskirts painted different from the rest of the body and...ugh :puke

If you wanna change the color of your car as a whole, more power to you. Please, don't mix and match though. It's like people that drive around with parts that are only primered >_<;

LOL...green it is..thanks for your input guys. I was actually probably gonna have them painted green anyway..but if the response would have been more positive towards the grey then I would have put more consideration into it.

Jesse...thanx for the powder coating tip...I know somebody with a set up but I have to prep the wheels myself..so it might be worth the 40 bucks a piece to just have your place take care of everything :thumbsup
