So, I got my SpeedHut gauges awhile back. Put them in, and my temperature gauge face was off center (installed perfectly, just the gauge face itself). I'd rather fix it myself honestly, as opposed to ordering another one, so can someone tell me whether the gauges will maintain functionality after cutting into the actual lighting strip, for lack of a better term? I can fix this probably in about 5 seconds, *if* I can cut them without killing them...

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I had to ask. Help?

do you hafta cut into the part where there's actually lighting or just part've the plastic? the entire piece doesn't have that electro-luminescent stuff on it. i would think you're jsut talking about cutting the plastic backing around where the spaces for the pins an stuff are. that would not be a problem. i've cut my other indiglos lake that to get the temp gauge to stop rubbing an stuff.

oh crap i could've gone an tested what happens to the EL part if you cut it... i just trashed my old indiglos earlier today before i read your post... damn sorry. don't feel like dumpster diving for it either :P

D'oh! Yeah, I'm talking about the actual EL panel...still, thanks for replying.

Talked to one of the guys at the Tech Support #, and he told me it was possible to cut the EL panels, as long as you use something sharp (razor blade, x-acto knife) and make a clean cut.

So, if anyone has any fitment issues in the future, there's your answer. Now I just need some double sided tape and I can fix my gauge cluster this weekend...

oh ok cool. whats the double sided tape for?

To make sure all the gauge faces stay down completely flat, I had one come up and block my fuel needle >_<;

haha i know what you mean... i stll gotta adjust my speedhut gauges.. the temp and fuel are rubbing a bit. it took me awhile to get it right w/ my old indiglos too. there's just not that much clearance underneath the needle :(
