64724, racing seats... needs pics & advice plz...

i like how the tenzo rally/evo's & dads look, and ive heard they were both comfortable so im thinking of going with one of those...

its looks like on the tenzo rally's that the part of the seat near your thigh comes up pretty high... is that a pain in the ass?(literally), it looks like they would press into the bottom of your thigh when you reach your legs down for the pedals..?

anyone have pics of the seats mounted in your car?

also, what kinda of sliders did you use & where did you get them?

advice/opinions/etc?

I will try to post up pics of my new seats and how i installed them. I got a set of DAD seats for my B-day and took me about 2 days to get them in the way I wanted too. I didnt use the sliders or the mounts that came with them.

I have a few pics of the Tenzo R Rally seats in my car on my pics page. There is a link to the site below. I really like them, they look nice and I think they are very comfortable.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I also got a set of DADs a couple months ago. How did you put them in without using the stuff that came with it?

BTW, the DADs are very nice seats. They are a little narrow, but comfortable nonetheless.

The front part that is raised up is pretty soft. Your legs push it down. I have found that the most comfortable way to sit in them is to slouch down so that my arse is almost down to where the front of the seat is bulged up. I have driven my car between 1500 and 2000 miles on the highway since putting the seats in. I still find them comfortable. I am about 5'11" and 220 lbs. I had to modify the sliders that came with the seats so I could use the lowest height setting. All that I had to do was chop the tabs off so I could hit the lowest setting, no biggie, about 2 minutes with a dremel. I also got brackets from the same person on ebay, and they fit great. It was a really easy install. I will give you the link below to the same auction that I won that is reposted. They guy was great to deal with, he had very fast shipping and great communication. I paid a total of about $570 for the seats, sliders, brackets and shipping. I would recomend these seats. They do, however, make your back seat even more useless.

The magazine seemed to rate the Tenzo Rally seats decently. They only rated on the fitment and comfortablness of the seats and not the quality. The Tenzo EVO was rated "Loose", and the Rally was rated "Just Right" for everything but a 28" waist which was rated "Too Loose"

I also vouch for the tenzo rally's, because I have a set in my eclipse. The sides do not stick into your thighs unless you are a very hefty, or wide individualy. I am 6'1 and about 170lbs w/ 32inch waist and I fit in them perfectly. Ozzmosis is correct about the padded front part of the seat. It is very soft, and it is sometimes best to sit directly on it and lean backwards - but on long car trips the lower lumbar area gets sore. Its a very good seat though. My brackets/sliders came from the person I bought it from.

i cant sit like that, it hurts my back...

i usually kick my ass all the way back in the seat. do you think tahts gonna be a problem with that raised part pushing into my thight... it looks like it could cut ur circulation off... especially if you were on a long trip and had ur foot on the gas nonstop...

I have the tenzo evo's in my car, here's a pic of them http://www.cardomain.com/id/eclipseracer82 I got mine from www.optauto.com for around 560 including shipping AND the custom made brackets AND sliders, just in case you dont wanna fabricate your own. (as i just found, ebay is much cheaper) As far as comfortability, im 5'8 190 with a 34" waistline and i fit like a glove in them. Excellent seats, probably not as nice as the rally.
