What's the difference between GSX and RS door handles, other than the RS is dull black and the GSX is painted to match the car color?

The RS handles should be glossy (painted black) from factory. It's not just the color of the plastic. If you see one that is flat black it is either worn out or was a factory replacement part that never got painted.

so could you just get the rs handles and mirrors painted to match

Most of the handles for sale on Ebay or at dealers are flat black and awaiting your paint job. I had my handles out to reinforce them (so they don't break again). I went ahead and painted the handles body color while I had them out but I left the mirrors gloss black since I think it looks better with my dark window tint.
