64395, what to do with stock rear seats...
Posted by atari145, Jan-03-04 04:39 PM
Ok, i hate my stock seats(non leather). all of them. i hate the way they look and feel. once i switch out the fronts with aftermarket seats, what can be done with the rear seat? Will i still have to suffer looking at its grey, triangular, encino-man style, print forever? do they sell an aftermarket rear seat? help me

Someone on here makes a rear-seat eliminator type kit that just puts some carpet over it. I remember seeing one w/ a spiffy mitsu logo or something on it. I think it was silvernt or something ... has a silver 2gnt .. i realize that doesnt help because like 1/3 of the users here have silver nt's heh.

Anyways, that's one option .. or a custom sub encloser/amp rack is another.

Custom subs, N2O :thumbsup

Or... you could probably get someplace to custom fab some rear seats to match your fronts.

Talk to SilverNT (Chris) - I believe they are $35 or so. I have a black one installed in my car along with insulation.

if you have the money, take them to a upholstery shop and get them re-upholsered. They should be able to just put a new cover and take off the old ugly fabric. This is wat i plan to do with my seats eventually. Get them all re-upholstered to my custom colors.

or you could look around for some black leather ones if you want to keep your seats.

be very careful when removing the back seat, if u get into an accident, some insurance companies will FLIP if they're not in there and screw you over, when that seat is removed it becomes a 2-seater car which is insured differently....i know a person that happened to, and its not a good situation. i hate them too, but i just live with it and dont let anyone sit back there...

Could get something like this

If you want, I can take a pic of them in my car. I'm nowhere close to being done with my interior, but they are in there at least.

Forgot to add, those are just custom made vinyl covers. They fit very nice. Whoever made them knew what they were doing.

just roll with the back part fliped down...You can't see them then and you still have a 4 passenger car as far as insurance is concerned.:thumbsup But nobody should ever be subjected to sit back there unless you don't like them...LOL

That's fuckin idiotic, and they can't really do that, they have to insure due to the factory specifications, hell, if that's what they go by, i'm gonna throw another seat in the hatch and call my car a sedan and get about $50 knocked off my insurance
