anyone know how to use the steam cleaning machine that detailers use?? I was about to get my car detailed at this shop but, after i came the detailer got fired, so the mechanic said that if i really really wanted to, i could do it myself. It seemed like a good deal only because i'm saving like a hundred bucks, but since the foreman and all the mechanics don't know how to work the machine , i'm kinda stuck. I dunno the brand or anything, but it's probaly like 4 feet by 3 feet, about 4 feet high (heh, i know, wtf?). I probaly just need to know some tips, like what kind of solvents, or what can i actually clean with these type of machine once i get started(i.e, don't clean the panels with the steam or something along those lines.) btw, i always fix my car here, so if you're close to Boston, hit me up at smokehonda@hotmail.com , we can probaly figure this out and you can get a free detail job. kinda..HEH :thumbsup

well the place should have the solvents used in the machine they are probaly labled. If they dont then i used oxyclean on the carpets. you can clean the carpets/seats with the cleaner no problem.

i would still make them do it. make them pay to have it detailed at another shop. :thumbsup you can seriously mess up your interior by doing it wrong, or you can take your chances.

nah, i didn't pay for anything. It's free of charge, i can use the machine anytime i want, i just don't want to ruin my seats or something. BTW, can i clean engine parts with this machine?

sure. Its water. Hot water at that but it's only water. Use OxyClean!

What about the skoctchguard on the seats?
