63948, installed bi xenon hid projectors in APC dual projectors
Posted by pearlwhite2gnt, Dec-25-03 12:17 PM
I just got done with the install and they fit almost perfect with just a little bit of grinding and the making of a few brackets. They have the low beam and the high beam built in with a little motor that switches the flapper. They are bright as hell. even brighter than the hids in the original apc projectors. the cutoff is way better and the light output is also much better. I will post pics as soon as I get the chance. The projectors also accept the d2s bulbs so there is no need for retrofit on the bulb part. Also I know have two high beams the original and the hids.

Wow your car looks awesome! I love my dual projectors but i don't have HID's yet :( I guess my silverstars will do for now, they are really bright with the duals though. It looks like your lights fit perfect with that stillen bumper too. I had to play with mine also to fit, nothing a dremel and some spacers cant fix. Post up some night pics!:thumbsup

I kind of wish that I still had the dual projectors and HID's. Oh well, as soon as I get my stupid credit card payed off I'll be getting another HID kit.

Did the APC dual projectors come with HID?

How hard was it to install the HID projector housing?

go to the auto parts store and buy screw in spring raisers race car guys use them to get higher spring rates out of weaker springs.

cost 10-15$
and you'll be high enough.

For your xenon projectors, did you need to make any sort of housing/enclosure for them? Or you just crammed them into the APC headlights...

How did you make the brackets? (from what?)
Where did you mount the ballasts and stuff?

Any pics?

I'd like to make some for myself too :)

:thumbsup

well I bought all the stuff off of ebay. For the install I had to notch the housing so the projectors would slide in. and the ballasts are mounted behind the fuse box and behind the headlight on the pass. side. the brackets just hold them in place and are made of thin sheet metal shaped like an s. They go from the existing mount for the old projector to the new hole on the new projector and I drilled a pilot hole and put a sheet metal screw through the housing and into the bracket.

I did the install about a year ago and love it. I get compliments almost everyday...but i also get cursed at by old people who hate the glare.

You can see me from about 5 miles away. Plus my projectors are the bi-xenon so i can remove the cutoff with the touch of a button. Its the first thing I'd do for looks to any car.
