I have this small lil band that goes across my door on both sides of the car. Its the thing that is like 4 feet long and in the middle of the door. Can't explain.. But can I take this off and if I do will there be just reguler body under neath of it, or will I be expecting holes and it not being painted under there? heres a pic

I had a talon and it had them on there, but the car was painted maroon and the orginal paint was black so when i took it off there was a black line. But there was no holes. the paint may not match up if u take it off.

off topic...but why do most cars have those strips on the door? if you look at most newer cars they have some form of that strip...what is its purpose?

The first thing that came to mind for a purpose for that is if some prick slides a shopping cart into the side of your car it dings that plastic thing and not your metal and paint job. I hope it wasnt put on thinking it would be cosmetically pleasing.. because that thing is ass! I hate it
