you can wash the car as soon as teh paint dries if you want to but i would wait a month to start waxing and polishing

Your suppose to wait at least 4 days, I would wait a week. Then I would wash, polish, and wax it right then for maximum preservation of the lust. (This is what we do at my friends body shop.)

You can wash your car, just use a soft cloth like a wash mit. To dry your car, use a chamois unless you like scratches.

Also.. at the shop I work at, we tell customers no wax for 1-2 months.

I second the no wax for 4 weeks idea. Paint needs time to cure imo.

Washing is fine though. I wouldn't use anything overly strong though.

i SAY never USE WAX. I say use 3M hand polishing glaze. leaves no white haze at all ever and leaves the car slipery:thumbsup and takes less time.

Ya I always wash it with a soft mitt....and lots o' soap!..I guess I can still go out and buy my Meguiers shit. I won't wax for like a moth or 2 though......I'll wash it tomorrow after work....it looks nice.:+ :+ :+

Polish, glaze, and wax are different products that do different things. Wax is the most important because it's what protects your finish, keeps the paint from drying out (which oxidizes as it drys).

Actually, according to perfessional detailers (I use to detail for a local shop), your suppose to polish (removes fine scratches, and imperfections), then glaze (adds shine, and lust), THEN wax (protects everything underneith).
