Hey, i live in the wonderful state of ohio and as you all probably know it snows like crazy all winter long and the roads are full of salt because of this. I wash my car about once a week at one of the spray off places and i get all of the salt off and i always wash it after a bad snow. I heard about rust proofing my car, they spray some stuff ( i think its a tar like substance) on the bottom of your car and im thinking about doing it. Has anyone had it done? does it work? should i get it since i wash my car every week? Itll cost me between $200-$300. thanks for the help -brian

Hmmmm....I was just at autozone & they have this rubberized, rust proof stuff in a can for 4.99 each.....Do it urself andsave tons of money. It'll soundproof from roadnoise and bumps too!!!

That shit takes 2 weeks to dry, I swear. I sprayed some on some cardboard just to test how it sprays before I decided to put the stuff all over the inside of my interior panels. I didnt spray it too hard and everyday I would touch it and everyday that shit would come off on my finger all tarry and sticky. so i changed my mind bout puttin it inside.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RUST PROOF YOUR CARS!!!.....Im in the great white north, TORONTO and here we get plenty of snow and salt....Unlike the sunny states, and even those with less harsh winters, if a car hits the 5 year mark, and hasent been rust proofed, your in trouble....I do mine every year, but dont get the tar, get the oil treatment, they do it at wal mart up here and it works great, a pro shop will charge 100, wallmart does it for 70.....They ahve full warrenty, and I think it is the best return for the buck when it comes to preserving our cars.
