62884, Fender question...
Posted by EricBss7, Dec-04-03 03:42 AM
Alright my right fender is pretty f'd up to say the least. It all happened when i was puttin my coilovers on and apparently my friend loosened sumthin he wasnt sposed to, causing the lower control arm to come free and the axle to snap right out. Anyways when this happened the wheel came up into the wheelwell and pretty much bent out my fender. Also, the side of the fender running parallel to the door bent out makin it look like a widebody fender...pretty cool but it needs to get fixed. my question is if i bought a pair of z3 fenders if i could just take the messed up one off and if the other one would fit right in...any help would be appreciated :thumbsup

Anything aftermarket, especailly body panels will not fit correctly. I've had some z3 fenders sitting in my cellar for almost 3 years now. When I bought them I did not realize that it would need some fixing to make them look nice.
If you decide to do get some z3's just dont get them off of eBay... more than likely they came out of someone's basement, molded from the stock. I'll probubly get bashed for it, but thats ok. Make sure you have some extra money lined up in case they do not fit well.

Undergoing MAJOR modifications, inside and out

I disagree with the comment "anything aftermarket, especailly body panels will not fit correctly." You can buy nice quality products from a lot of companies that well fit with no modifications. Its the same principal as anything else, the more money you spend, the better the product is going to be. You cant expect a fender that costs 50 bucks to be as nice as one that costs 150.
