62556, blitz kit and lowered talon Posted by berightback, Nov-27-03 09:30 AM
Alright, my talon is lowered with Ractive Coilovers, and it sits on 14 by 9 Motegi Racing Wheels. My qustion is, is the blitz bumper going to be on the ground when I install it? what do you guys think that the best thing to do is? Should I get bigger wheels? I think that the coilovers are on the highest setting too, and trust me when I say it sits!

YES, you need to lose the coilovers or go with mud hoggin tires. That bumper will be on the ground. I know from experience. I used to have one lowered with coilovers, 2.5" drop, and stock 14's. My bumper was literally 1.25" off the ground. It lasted 2 months before my brother shattered it on a speed bump.

Heres what I would do if I were you. If your going the wheel route, get 17's with 215/55R17. That should be sufficiently wide and tall enough to give you about 2.25" ground clearence. That is drivable. OR you can lose the coilovers and go back to stock springs.

Dude it will sit on the ground or be close enough to bust it within the first week you have it on. I had to get 18's w/225-40's and I still drag like a mother. I have a 2.5" drop on gold lines. You will not be able to run the 14's go 17 or 18 for sure.

I honestly didn't have a choice, my rents new that I was looking at Motegi's MR-7's last year round this time, and instead of asking me the size I would like, they just went out and got the stock 96 Talon size

thats understandable. my rents just put new tires on my stock rs wheels not too long ago so they are a little iffy bout me getting new rims. oh well.

I have a blitz bumper on factory suspension and 18" wheels. It is really quite low. Watch out.
