I am stock height and had to avoid everything, especially inclined driveways, drive thrus, speed bumps, etc. After I broke it I just trimmed it smooth. It looked bad ass, but you're going to eventually break it. Do you really want to spend $200?
I say go for it. Just take lots of pictures as soon as you put it on. It will lower the front by about 2 inches. And it does help on the interstate. My car felt like it stuck to the road better.

I am rockin Sportlines also and have had 3 chin spoilers. This current on has lasted the longest by far. It does make a difference on the highway.
They are nice as shit and give the front of the car a mean and clean look. BUT your drivig style needs to change drastically if you wanna keep one of those things on your car.
BTW my current one has lasted over a year with daily driving. JUST BE CAREFUL VERY VERY VERY CAREFUL!

I am running stock 98 GSX wheels 17". The overall diameter should be the same as the 16" setup on the GST and the GS.

if you're a safe driver, then the height of your car shouldn't matter. if it does break, you get to become familiar with fiberglass, bondo, and painting:thumbsup

anyone try trimming the top portion instead of the bottom before it breaks to give you a little more clearance?

You cannot trim the top portion cause thats how/where it mounts to the bottom part of the bumper. I guess if you were creative enough there COULD be a way, but it would be more trouble than its worth IMO.

there is no amount of safe driving that will save the chin lip spoiler from a NH winter.

i did something to that nature. right in the middle, where it's flat, i took off about 1/2 an inch so now i got 1/2 inch more of clearance. only us tuners know how much 1/2 an inch makes:thumbsup

Thanks guys. I am probobly gonna go with the RMDSM one since its poly, not the CF one from a tooners member that I did want. I'll have to be real careful. Good thing I winter the car or I could get a job with the state up here and help plow the roads with the lip!:thumbsup Again, thanks everyone!

checkout TOTalon from this board, he offers a great alternative. Same look, same performance. $50 less and its not quite as tall. GSXTACY has good stuff too.

upto what you want:
rmdsm = abs plastic gsxtcy = fiberglass & carbon fiber (and in multiple colors) other guys = usually just a splitter.
in this type of situation, you get what you pay for. remember that:thumbsup

Hey shuwa29, you probably dont remember me, but you recommended me to gsxtcy. He sent the lip and it looked alright, but it was broken in half when i got it. I had to send it back to him and he said he had insurance, but i have not received a new one or my money back and it has been 2 months. I dont think i am getting anything back from him, i emailed him alot and he said i am not going to lose anything from him, but it has been about 2 months and i still have no money. I liked the lip, but everything i am going through now is making me pissed. If you talk to him,ask him to email me something. thanks

Im one of the guys that makes these lips. We think it has the visual appeal of the other lips, with a few major differences:
- You wont have to change the way you drive - It will still be in tact by the next time you change your oil - Its quite a bit cheaper than the others
Ours have been on our cars for several incident-free months.
