I'm getting some racing seats and will need brackets, but I don't have any idea where to begin as far as making them goes. Would anyone be willing to help?

You can simply get 4 metal bars from Home Depo and weld them together. Afer that cut out 4 holes in the stock locations and you are set.

NO you can not!:rolleyes dont offer advice if you dont know what your talking about. :nono the mount points are different heights on the floor pan, plus other factors. you cannot simply buy 4 bars from home depot and weld them together!:thumbsdown

Yes you can custom fab seat brackets. I have 2 of them sitting in my car right now mounted to APC Racing Seats. I welded a small spacer in both low points to raise it up to level and drilled out 4 holes for the mounting points. I wouldn't just tell somebody that something can be done without doing it myself.

What I did was buy the Tenzo R brackets for my car and since the sliders for the deats didn't line up with the brackets I cut some 1/4" thick X 2" wide steel amd welded it to the brackets. I just drilled some holes in the steel to mount the sliders and bolted those bitches up. I've got about 25' of the steel left. Shipping it would be expensive though.

Yes, you can do this!!! i have done it as well!

you however cannot do this! there are structure, integrity and saftey issues that have to be accounted for.

there is a far cry between "simply get 4 metal bars from Home Depo and weld them together" and "custom fab seat brackets"
thats like saying grabing any turbo off any car and bolting it on our motor is the same as buying a specifcly designed kit.

What I did and i dont know why others have not is simply use the stock sliders and brackets. The holes do not line up but I got some bars from lowes like said above built the side close to the door up about an inch with some iron then welded the bars across to bolt the seats up to. That way you get to use the stock sliders that lock on both sides rather than the crapy universal sliders that only lock on one side

On another note, I'd just like to say fuck the seat bracket. I hope that if I'm in a wrech bad enough to break my brackets, that the harness will still hold my ass in.

ahh correct sir! BUT as with most aftermarket seats (and mounting brackets), the harness is bolted to the seat bracket in at least 1 place!! so...if bracket come up, dirty go splat against something!!!
we no want a splat dirty!!! :nono
