How would I go about getting rid of the holes where the fog lights go on a 97-99 eclipser front bumper?What products should I use and how would I prep it ect..Heres a pic of what Im talking about.

i would say its just some fiberglass/bondo slapped on there, molded in, smoothed out, prepped, and painted. Jus my $.02 though :shrug

like BuckNutty said, fiberglass... if you use that strip the paint off to the plastic first or it won't bond

napa sell this kit for urethane the best way would be to use that

you have to solder a piece in there then use the mixture they give you to fill the holes

its pretty pricy

o and fiberglass and bondo doesnt stick to urethane that well

You can get it to bond though...only issue would be when/if the front end had to bend....ie hit a curb or something. Then the place you put teh glass on would jus crack. I am positive there is a flex agent you can get for fiberglass, jus not sure how much it is, or even what it is called. I know GTP International (importfan.com) uses it in their "Blue Class" fronts.


Or you could jus form rubber cement boogers into teh shape you need and paint over it :shrug

Maybe find a cheap beat up front bumper and cut pieces out of it to fit the holes, then you would just need the urethane/bondo stuff they were talking about to "glue" the pieces you cut into place and smooth it out. Just a thought???

probaly getting an identical bumper in fiberglass form and use a fiberglass patch on it. Bonding fiberglass to urethan can have alot of porblems. I'm not even gonna get started on why you shouldn't be working on urethan becuase of the amount of work and health hazards. But, let's say your bumper hits a curb like buck said, since your bumper is soft, you could loose your patch or even worst rip your oem bumper.

I seriously doubt that it will bond enough to tear his bumper if he hits a curb. Worse case scenario would be that when the glass pops off, or cracks off, it will bring some of the other paint with it. I imagine the rest of teh bumper would only suffer whatever damage it would have before. I know they sell glass OEM fronts on ebay, and i am sure you find them elsewhere too. A glass front would be mo betta to work with, but don't hit any curbs :nono

here i got an idea might work might not

just put in those fog light inserts scratch it up and bondo over that to make a flat panel for the front

i dont think the bumper will flex so much that it will crack that i dunno just an idea

Sounds like its gonna be a PITA to do heh.

If you wanted to do it right though.. might have to custom make a new bumper with a fiberglass mold. If you want to patch on to your current bumper though.. mebbe bolt something onto the bumper to support whatever you're gonna use to cover the holes. :shrug
