61543, Aftermarket seats???
Posted by Ozzmosis86, Nov-06-03 03:21 PM
I am looking into buying some after market seats for my 98 GS. The sliders are bad on my passenger side seat, they don't lock into place very well. From time to time my passenger side seat will fly forward or back whether someone is sitting in it or not. I am looking for some decently priced yet nice seats. I need them to be on sliders, and I need them to be reclinable and comfortable. I would appreciate anyone's insight and opinion on this. I have seen these DADS seats on ebay for cheap, are they worth it? I have also seen Tenzo R Ralley seats for buy it now for $440 plus $70 shipping for both front seats and sliders. Is that a a decent deal??

I would appreciate any advice I can get.

Andy

"I have seen these DADS seats on ebay for cheap, are they worth it?"

Oh yea!! more comfy than stock seats!! heres the catch though:

You need to fabricate mounting brackets for these types of seats. The "cheaper" seats only come with slider.
unless you buy high end, expensive seats that come with mounting brackets, you will need to get some made or buy generic ones and hope they will line up to the DAD's (or whatever brand)

And no, they wont work in any way with your stock stuff, so dont even try!! Ive been down that road!!!

good luck.

Can you post some pics of your seats, and possibly some of your mounting brackets? Or give me a description of what you used to mount your seats.

Thanks,

Andy

i got tenzo r reclinables. I liked them a lot. Had to get used to your thigh being higher than your ass in the seat...but much more comfortable for the long drives. plus they hug you well in the turns

I got the Corbeau Forza seats. It doesn't recline but it is still cumfy. It was worth the money to pay for the brackets and harness with the seat. It also fits perfectly into the old mounting holes for the factory seats.

I got tenzo r evo seats. Reclinable and really comfortable. Had to buy brackets, but found that sparco brackets work with the tenzo seats. Also got harnesses that are a lot more comfortable than regular seat belts.
