I have been wanting to do a little work on my interior for a while now, but I need opinions. I have a grey dash now, but I want to go black with silver accents. Should i look for a black dash, or just paint mine. This car is a daily driver and gets quite a bit of use, so I was worried about the durability of paint. To those of you who have painted your dash--how is it holding up? Is it really shiny, like a gloss, or more like a satin finish? I don't want it to blind me. Sorry for all the ?s, any help would be appreciated. TIA

If you dont want to be blinded, I suggest you get a flat black for the top and a gloss for the rest. As long as you prep the surfaces properly, you should be fine imo. I have only painted my trim (HVAC, bezel, etc) and it's held up great for over 2 years now. Take your time and do it up right and it should last you a good long time.

Come on guys, 25 view and 1 reply? I need help making this decision. I would rather paint IF it will hold up and not be too shiny. I don't want it to look like I painted it, I just want it to look good. Help me out fellas.

I also have a grey interior. I got black leather seats front and rear. I am painting my entire interior black, putting in a new black carpet, and accenting everything with some carbon fiber. I went with the SEM product line of vinyl and plastic paints. I did alot of research and they seemed to be the most promising. Again, you must be sure to do it right. I am sanding all my pieces smooth, using SEM prep, SEM sand free, SEM satin black, and then the SEM low luster clear finish. I also got whisper black vinyl (leather imitation- shhh) to wrap my headliner, door inserts, and rear fiberglass system enclosure. I plan on having my car downed for several weeks to do this and work on it little by little during that time. There is ALOT of sanding involved to achieve the glass appearance. Hope this helps a little.
