Hi All,

I am installing my HID PHILIPS 6000K on my GST 97. I am looking for a Ground position in my right hand side. Do you guys know any good place to ground a wire? or Should I get an extention wire and wire it back to the ground position of the battery. What wire should I get?

I am going to post some pic and I took some pic while I was wiring it... I will share with you guys later !

any bolt to the chasis will do.. just make sure you scrape off the paint. isn't there already a ground with the stock headlight wiring? you could just tap into that...

Could you give me some idea about it?

should be one've the 3 wires going into the main headlight wiring harness on the back of the headlight. i think it's one wire is power for low beams, one wire is power for high beams, and the third wire is the ground. my HID's actually just plugged into the stock harness so i didnt' really hafta figure out which was which..

yeah! I got that...
I am not sure if I am using the one you mentioned in your message...
but, I got a bolt... which has many wire attaching to it.... I guess it is the ground.. and it works now....
What's the name of your HID?
I am using the Philips 6000K, which is quite nice.........
I just set it up today.... so happy

i got a hanabi 8000k kit (brucesspeed.com was running a 2gnt discount for awhile)

glad to hear you got it working. FYI pretty much the entire chassis of the car acts as a ground for our cars. that's why the negative terminal of the battery is connected to a bolt on the side of the engine bay. that's why for a ground you just need to connect it to the chassis

How's your 8000K? Is that purple in color?
I got my 6000K PHILIPS, I heard that it is actually 5800K in LAB condition. I found that it is not really very bright in Rainy days..... but, I will try that out in normal night time. Will 4100K be brighter than a 6000K? becoz 4100K will produce more lumen, which is brigther. From certain data, 6000K is having 25% less than 4100K.

Could you share some of your experience with me?

the 8000k kit is a little blueish. it does not work very well in the rain in my experience either. thats ok though because you can see better in the rain than you could with the stockers. any improvement is an improvement IMO.

the 8000k/6000k stuff tells you about the color of the light i think. the higher it is the more bluish it gets. something like that. but yea HID's are hella bright and even if the tint makes on particular shade harder to see with in the rain or something it's still many times brighter than stock lights. and nothing's as bad as using those imitation hyper-white type bulbs. those are terrible to use in the rain.
