60570, Would this look stupid?

Well I had 2 descisions yet to make when it came to me getting my car painted in december. First descision was that I decided to go wingless. Second, I am still not sure on. I am getting my car painted a blue tone, and I was planning on going for a blue/white scheme. I was wondering, do you think it would look stupid to leave the engine bay and the door sills white?

Also, I just recently bought headers, and a $45 tach w/shift light.

I have around $200 left, and I can't decide on what to get.

At first I was thinking a momo steering wheel. Then I was thinking of getting a 7.2" lcd monitor(my friend was going to let me have his dvd player out of his car.

But I am thinking I would rather get ignition. Only problem with this, is that I don't know much about ignition setup, so I am thinking I would get it, and be hella confused. My friend recommended MSD, so I have primarily been looking at them. Anyone else have other brand suggestions?

if you don't have anything that jumps out at you and says "buy me", i would save that two hundred for a rainy day. you never know what might break on your car at any given time.

I am trying to get as many non turbo/nitrous upgrades as I can until I eventually do invest in a turbo.

you could start a turbo fund or add to an already existing turbo fund:thumbsup
I'm going to be opening up a separate savings account strictly for turbo fund deposits:7

I have no point. I know when I am getting one, and know I will have the money.

Get the MP throttle body. Best 200 you will ever notice. or get the AFX underdrive pulley... why get an ignition if you have no mods that need it??

Or you could get $200 worth of LED windshield squirters and put them all over your car... that might be cool.

Take the 200 dollars and invest it into the "painting my door sills and engine bay fund". Saving up for a turbo....thats silly. Do like me go to the bank and ask for a loan. (24 percent interest rate....ouch)

Ok I feel like I am repeating the same thing over and over again.

I don't need to save for a turbo kit or the paint job. Turbo kit is coming from parents for my graduation present. Paint job is being done for free by my uncle.

I only asked about the sills and engine bay because I figured it would cut off a lot of the time it will be in the shop.

I think I am actually getting the MP throttle body.

The paint thing would depend on how you did it I think. How often do you have the hood open to show people? I would go with the TV if I were you but that's just imo.

The door sills shouldn't cost too much more or take too much extra time, but the engine bay probably would. I'm not sure how they do it, but it seems like they would have to remove a ton of sh*t (ie: all the wires on the fire wall, the cluthch and brake master cylinders, the ac lines, the radiator and probably a buch of other crap. If you go to shows it would make a big difference having it painted though, but to answer your question it won't look silly not having it painted. Most cars that get color changes don't paint the engine bay.

i just saw a hundaaa yesterday in sacramento. 2001 civic, silver body, black body kit, balck park benck. at first i though "decent." i was looking at its right side and we left and we drove by the left side and it had stockers. its people like that who make the import scene look REALLY bad.

Just grab some black spray paint when its done and paint your bay black.. Mine wasn't painted but I had them paint the bay black until I eventually get it painted. But it looks fine.....door sills...paint them.

Door jambs aren't that hard....the painter (your uncle in this case) just has to mask off the interior of the car and scuff the jambs enough to get the paint to stick. Shit, you could scuff the jambs yerself with a scotch-brite pad, just make sure that the paint doesn't shine when you are back, doesn't have to be down to the metal. As for the engine, if you wanted it done right, they would have to remove the engine and all the components in order to paint the entire bay. It's up to you as to how long you want your car down, and how much time you'd be willing to spend with your uncle doing this so he won't charge you for it, lol. Or, like mentioned above somewheres, you could just rattle-can it if you wanted to. imo, I would get the jambs done. Unless you are going show, just leave the bay as-is. Just my .02 from working at a body shop.
