lets see, no turbo, and certainly not 98% of what they said was on the car....plus all the rediclous paint and body kit...not to mention teh 4ft tall alum spoiler which does nothing. coupled with the hideous lime green paint job and all the stickers...yeah, its rice. and it certainly dosent run 10's :rolleyes that car is the definition of rice. no go, all show (and bad taste at that), and cant back up the looks with power

I saw it up close at the bay side expo center, silreclipsers might have seen the same one. It wasnt turbo, the paint was faded, the car looked like shit. Thats all i have to say.

They had like 7 eclipses looking exactly the same for the movie. From what I heard, the one used for the shot where they look at the engine, did have the turbo.

And now the color of the car makes it rice? rofl why do you people feel so insecure to where u need to put labels such as "rice" on cars?

The car is very much a beauty on its own. Granted it doesn't make much power it still looks great. Personally i would of gone without the wing and the massive amount of stickers. I'm just glad a 2g eclipse made it to the big screen.

Nope, if you pause when he opens the hood all you see is a CAI and a header, no turbo.

I think it's a beautiful car. Sure, it might not make much power but obviously the guy didn't do what he did to it for the track. In those pictures it's doing exactly what it was built for, standing still and looking good. That's why it was in a movie and is constantly seen at car shows. If the guy claimed it to be a drag monster then I'd have to call rice. But I think it's just nice.

I saw the car when I visited California. They had all the fast and furious cars there. I talked with the owner of the place where the car show was and he said none of the eclipses were really a turbo, but one of them really did have a working nitrous system in it. He said our cars are quick anyways, but sure as hell aren't 10 second cars. The eclipse looks badass but it needs to loses the stupid wing.

The one they had at NOPI had a fake carbon fiber hood. It was that cf vinyl and you could see the line where it seperated. They used 3 sheets to cover the hood....looked like ass. :puke

yea, i saw a replica at the cincinnati cavalcade of customs car show. it was terrible. I took a glance inside and to my surprise..... it was an automatic. ha. And they were charging money for a picture in front of it. boo :thumbsdown :thumbsdown :thumbsdown

the only problem with the car is you would be copying. Other than there are no problems with it. Some people on this board take stuff way to seriously.

The only thing i would change about the car is the amount of stickers he used and the wing. I think it would have looked bad ass with just side decal and the turbo wing.

plain and simple the car is sick. I don't mind the color, but probably could have found a color that looks a hell of a lot better. Plain and simple that's probably one of my all time favorite cars. If you wanted to make a replica one just like it, more power to you and if you don't want it to be rice, the get the damn mods

I think the car is sweet...I wish it had the mods that the movie said it did...but it's not my car...and after all it's the car that inspired me to buy mine.:thumbsup

Ha Ha! Well you definitely got me! :thumbsup Well I am not affraid to admit it! That car is the whole reason I bought an eclipse! I had just gotten back from 3 years in Germany and I really didn't see any eclipses and then I seen that movie. I actually have the little matchbox car and the 1/18th scale car. :shrug

I was actually pissed when the movie came out. I wanted a 2g eclipse for when I turned 16, and that green was pretty much my favorite color. And I planned on painting my car that color. Well now fuck that idea. If you have any car nondark green you are a f&f loser.

Dosen't really matter what color your car is. People associate 90% of imports with the F&F craze period. Cause honestly, the scene blew up when the movie came out, and not in a good way. Hell this board got bombarded with members as soon as the movie hit the big screen.

I'm not talking about anyones car in particular, but altezza taillights, body kits, and big wings are associated with that movie. The Fast and The Furious ruined the import scene in my opinion. All it did is make it harder for real import enthuisit to get respect and easier to get cheap ass body kits, aluminum wings, and fake BOV's . Just my .02 though.

I dont like the F and F Eclipse at all. I hate the big ass wing, the fake BOV noise, the stickers, the graphics, the Blitz kit looked ok until the movie came out and everyone got it. I saw it at NOPI and the "cf hood" was a giant crap sticker that was peeling off. The color is different but stands out to much and I dont like the wing. Buy hey thats just my opinion. There are actually a couple F and F Eclipse's in that movie, some were auto and some were manual from what I heard. Even if that Eclipse was nice why would you want to make a duplicate of it? I would muich rather make something that would want to make other people copy you.

Actually, I found the second movie to be FAAAARRRR better. It was still a bit cheesy, but it has to be to entertain the automobile uneducated. I really liked the plot line, and the bad guy was very good. Not to mention the Charger, Camaro, Saleen, multiple Ferraris, Evo 7, Skyline, s2000, rx-7, supra. Yes I know the s2000, rx-7, and supra were in the first one.

And to what that guy said about the altezzas becoming popular because of the movie. Well I never knew there were altezzas for dsms when they movie was out. Keep in mind the limegreen had stock tails. I know that most people around here in the midwest started liking the altezzas because of the euro tails on the import luxuries.

Personally I think the more there is to look at, the better the car is. Why have your car like the majority's? I am sure there are still more people with stock tails then altezzas. And altezzas are hardly ugly. If you find them to be ugly, you are either just rebelling against ricers because you are upset with the import craze, or you have bad taste.

Speed gets the tickets, Show gets the hos.

I heard the actual car they chose for the movie was a gsx that looked like that. HOWEVER, the movie made replicas and used an rs for that famous shot of under the hood. So i'd assume somewhere out there, there's a show AND go FnF eclipse. hehe, someone's gonna be surprised.
