55550, my project car
Posted by importxs, Aug-20-03 04:06 AM
This is my car when I first got it in one piece.

This is the car after a week of stripping.

Here is the hedliner with a layer of fiberglass on it.

These are the interior parts before the sanding and primer.

The interior primed and sanded.

APC Racing Seats

Air Cylinders and a 6 gallon tank. I'm not going to install the air suspension untill the sub box is complete. I haven't started on it so its gonna be a little bit of time.

Fabricating the center console for the air suspension switch box and the center console piece for a security key pad.

The rest of the air suspension, DVD Player and Monitor, air intake, and Spal Window kit.

I'm also doing a body kit (I don't know which one yet), yellow interior and exterior, Lambo doors (kit is in the mail), custom sub box, and a bunch of other mods yet to come. Please let me know if any of you guys know a cheap place to get the carbon fiber fabric.

For body kit I am thinking Evo Rally front, Blits/Combat rear, and Blits Low Cut side skirts. I'm not sure on the rims for now. I'm gonna paint the car yellow and have matching interior. It should be close to completion in about 2 months but we will see.

is your interior panels like the door panels and shit all fiberglassed, or did you just sand everything and prime it. i wasn't sure if you could sand the panels down really smooth or not. what grit sand paper did you use for them?

I sanded all the interior parts and I do mean ALL of them. I used 80 grit, then 180, then prime, then 320 and 400 wet. I'm gonna add a flex coat addetive when I paint them so that the paint won't crack from flexing and expanding. It took a long time to get all the parts smoothed out, I think like 5 days, 12 hours a day. I used an orbital sander where I could, some hand sanding in curved regions where the orbital couldn't reach and some bondo in curved regions with a deep texture. I'm working on my dash right now installing a second gauge cluster in it and I still have to finish the roof. When those two things are done I will paint all the parts.

I can't compare the seats to other brand but I like them a lot, they hug you on the sides and feel very comfterble. Only thing that is bad about them is that to recline them you have to rotate the know a lot.

The cylinders are Chassis Tech for my air suspension.

>u running regular air or nitro?
regular air
