55020, Ugh... my life is over (scratched new wheels)

I went to go get an alignment earlier today. When I got home I decided to check my wheels and found one was scratched!

Excuse the pic quality... It's the left front wheel scratched in two different places. What can I do? Should I go bitch at the alignment shop? There's no way I can prove they did it, though I'm like 95% sure it was them.

Can they be fixed somehow?? How much can I expect to pay?

This sucks. :-(

That blows do0d. When the idiots were fixing a flat tire that I had, they scratched the shit out of one of my wheels when they were putting the tire back on. They wouldn't do shit for me but hopefully you'll have better luck.

Did you get it fixed? Or did you learn to live with it?

This really bothers me right now. I know my car isn't perfect in any way, but getting these scratches on my otherwise brand new wheels really bums me out. To top it off, I paid the assholes who scratched them. Grrrr.

Anybody know if this is fixable and how much? I'll probably learn to live with it, but it's comforting to know I could get them fixed some day.

I learn to live with it. I remember everytime I wash my car . I got it fixed for about $20 per rim but it is not perfect.

I may be of little help but when I got my 18's, like 2 weeks after, my woman did a number on mine at the fast food drive thru. I was pissed but I left it like that. Then the second and third came around. I was cool cause the first one is the one that really hurts. It may be hard, but living with it might be better for your nerves later on. I really think few daily drivers go without any damage. It happens. Cheer up they still look hot! :D

$20 ain't bad at all if it'll help hide the scratches. Hehe, I'm making this a bigger deal than it is. Oh well, life goes on. You guys are like a support group. :thumbsup

BTW, if I ever have to hit a huge pothole and bend a rim... I HOPE IT'S THIS ONE! :7

Its worth a try to go to the shop and have them look at it. Once my dad took his volvo into a shop to get his tires rotated, and they laid one of the rims face down and scratched this shit out of it, he went down there the next day and they replaced the whole rim. Granted it was on a practically new car and the rims were stock (still nice rims though). but give it a shot, whats the worst that can happen?

Yeah its very unfortunate but you have to learn to live with it. Never own anything you'd fear would be taken away from you. That is what my father always told me. But I know exactly how you feel, trust me. Good luck getting it fixed bro. Let us know what happens.

I know how ya feel man...

I got my rims mounted at Pep boys and they scratched the shit out of TWO of the rims....about three scratches on each rim!! The worst part about it is that I couldn't complain because my boy got me a discount on the rims.

Same here, it used to really bother me when little things would happen to my car, but you learn to live with them because you know it's going to happen again. In fact, I caught the front bumper on a curb while backing out to sharp at the store yesterday....oh well. I'll get some touchup and see how that looks...hehe

sucks ha? but everything is made to be broken.

Man that sucks big time. Lol makes me think back to when I was racing AMA, the 1st thing we would always do when we got our new bikes was to push them over once, that way the pain and suffering of scratching up the bodywork was over right away. It was inevitable that the bikes would get scratched the fuck up by the end of the season, so it was easier to just get it out of the way right away.

At least now you don't have to experience that again,
Chris b.

I just ended up learning to live with it. I want new wheels anyway, so I don't see the sense in fixing the scratched one.

I'd go with the old proverb...you don't really have your rims until you've scratched em :) J/K, that sucks but like everyone said you learn to live with it. Kinda like bottoming out or going down, it only sucks the first couple times haha. Later...
