5414, what if the body kit doesnt fit?
Posted by talonboy, Jun-13-01 04:18 PM
I got rear endded a while ago and got lucky with the insurance so i had some money to spend and i got a body kit from wholehyper.com. anyways I took my front bumper off and held the neew one up to the front of my car to see how it fit, i didnt have the 97-99 lights on and where the top bolts on was bent a little bit from the accident, but it didn't fit right. After the car gets fixed (goes into the shop in a couple days) what should i do if it still doesn't fit? I live in davenport Iowa so there really isn't any shops that would be able to help at all that i know of. Any help would be great.

Dont forget to take off the front imapact bar. The huge bar that in front of the radiator. Check out 2gnt.com--mods (cyan has a link there to his site that tells you how to take off the bumpers). It helped me out a lot. Youd be amazed at how many bolts u gotta take out.

If you have a blitz front, you shouldn't have to take off the front black impact bar. I didn't need to with my blitz...

who gives a shit man....i think it looks good on 804's car. now maybe on yours since it is white it wont look good but i would rather have as much shit between me and the front of the car as possible incase i get in a wreck. i would like to know if eclipse804's bumper fit fine or if you had to mold it at all around that bar?

i had to take off my rebar, but im glas i did, it saved 15 pounds of weight and it looked like shit everytime i had to drive around with no bumper on, now if i drive with no front bumper, the car just looks plain mean as shit.

Thanks, no I didn't need to remold it at all. It was a tight fit, but it got on. I also like the reassurance of that bar there, because that is basically the only thing that is made to take most of the impact up front (that's why the venom bumper I made is specifically made to keep the reinforcement bar, even though that made me have to do 2 extra weeks of work - hopefully it will be out soon). Also, my reinforcement bar isn't exactly black anymore since they painted the bumper while on the car, so that bar is mostly the same color as my car as well. I don't think its that noticeable , especially if you have a grill in there.

Whoooaaa there, settle down. I guess you didnt see that little smily face at the end, those stand for emotions (you know the link on top where it says Emotion icon short cuts) In my case i was being sarcastic.

Oh yeah there is another post on the board that deals with the same thing..you should read them, both this post and the other post have answered your question prolly 4 times already.
