i *think* that hondahater was trying to do the supra tails conversion a while back. he abandoned it i belive.
if you do a search, youll find lots of info on the targa top project. you wont find a walk-through though, but youll get an idea of whats involved.

IMO that doesnt look right. lights too small for the tail... but supra light conversion inset with the stock triangular tail light frame looks nice tho.. like that blue eclipse with the ram air intake..

Dude.....you're gonna pay $500 to fuck up your car. Targa tops are not a popular thing to do because our cars NEED the roof to stay rigid. If not your body will twist and bend. One good corner and your targa top will come loose and start leaking on you. This has been said over and over. Search for it.

thats why we are re-enforcing, I KNOW you gotta have that piece or the car has all kinds of problems but if others who have it done to their eclipse said with re-enforcement they have been fine

well i got my emails back and yeah its going to cost a little bit more but im getting a real friendly price on labor since its a family friend.. 6pt roll cage welded to the car itself, x plates under the car have been whats worked best for everyone so far, flex should be minimal to none.. and if we screw it up (which is always a very strong possibility) then i'll have to live with it.. with other parts going on right now its gonna be awhile before i can get it started.. just so everyone knows im not trying to morph the eclipse into some crazy-slow honda-like-speed POS.. i just want something a little different.. speed is still my #1 priority in the long run and im willing to sacrifice a little bit to have a show and go car..

which you won't have if you targa, it'll be all go. The flex that will be created is not safe at speed. You'll pay alot to have you a trailor queen but hey its yo money not mine

yeah i "was" doing that, but all the time and work it takes is mind blowing. you can either weld bolts to the body then do killer bodywork or just do killer body work. If you are thinking of doing these by your self and you dont have 4 years experiance with bodywork I would just forget it. I do have the experiance and I said screw it will all the time it took. So I was making these till I didnt like them..........

why not just saw the bolts off the supra taillights off, hollow out a stock set ouf taillights, put the supra taillights in there, fill the bottom half with fiberglass resin, then more and more till you get the proper look ?

targa eclipse, i got some quesitons about ur mods, are u a gst or a 420a with turbo kit.
-HRC FMIC, N1 Exhaust system, test pipe, Turbo kit, Howell Cams, Aem Cam gears, valve springs, JE Pistons, Crower Rods, lashers lifters, msd coil, spark plugs, spark plug wires from msd, head Port N polished, Missing Link, E-manage, 720cc injectors, Profec B Boost controller, EGT, A/F Gauge, NX N tercooler SPray kit, Nitrous Express kit stage 1, Phantom Grip LSD, AF/X pulley kit, MSD, Bored out TB, 1G Intake Manifold, EMS,-
1st, i didnt think howell made there own cams, u have any maps on that e-manage, and i didnt think that it could control injectors that big on a 2gnt. and the 1g intake manny???? correct me if im wrong, im still trying to figure out if your a 4g or 420a. but, u gotta be a 420, cuz u have a missing link, but, theres no such thing as a "1g intake manny" cuz the 420a wasnt in 1gs. and the exhaust doesnt look like a n-1, im confused, please clarify :wary
and im not trying to be a ass by saying this, but most of u that posted about the targa top, have no clue what ur talking about.
