Okay, it's just a few pics of how my exhaust heat shield polishing went.

^^^Last two were after I hit it again with the fine abrasive and then another coat of polish..and then I buffed it. Pics don't really show how shiny it is....I can't wait to put it back in and then get pics of it.

Looks good bro. I did it a little bit ago and it makes all the difference the way it makes your engine bay look. Nice job.

I got bored this morning and had nothing else to do....so I ran to home depot and picked up some supplies and got to work. That's the only real reason I did it....well, that and I wanted that hideous piece of metal to look a little better;-)

w3rd, its not so much that its shiny but its that its NOT rusty and disgusting looking. Take a pic of how it looks in the engine bay too :)

Perhaps I may do mine if I get that bored feeling.

I dunno....but i need to get at least two new ones....i stripped the hell out of two when I was trying to get them off. I'll probably end up going to home depot tomorrow to try and find a match...I'll let ya know what I find.

I did that like 2 weeks ago, if you saw it now, it looks like greddy headers, that turn all blue and purple and shit, I guess b/c i didnt take off all the polish

^^^ that reminds me of this guys heatshield at the shootout....not sure if he;s from this board but it was like a really cool burnt oranage color and when i asked him how he did that...he said he screwed up and put the wrong clear coat on it or something lol but it looked tight.

lol...yea mine looks like burnt titanium muffler tips, kinda cool, but then again not really, cuz its not suppose to be like that, but oh well

I just drove up to my local hardware store and found some stainless steel ones that matched up with the original bolts. Looks better than having the rusty ones on the shiny heat shield :)
