I got pissed off the other day because I had so many damn wires tied
straight onto my battery terminals that my engine bay looked like a
rats nest, and terminals were overloaded with wires for running my
washer nozzle lights, floursecent grill bulb, Autometer gauge and
switches, etc, so I went to radio shack, bought 25 dollars worth of shit and built this:


Sorry its so damn big!

Its a power box (splitter)with 8 quick release connectors, (4 for the + battery
terminal, and 4 negative) so now whe nI have to wire up something
else, I have the port ready to go, just hit the lever, stick the
end of the wire in and BAM! POWAH! no more unscrewing the battery
cables to tie another one it, and there is a 20 amp fuse on the
main power line so I can protect my powered accessories as well as my electrical system.

Tell me what you think! It cost me about $25 to build with Radio Shack parts.

Looks good to me as long as it can take the heat. I though about getting another fuse box, like they sell at the autoparts store, and hooking everything to that. Good invention. :thumbsup

It basically the same plastic as the fuse boxes are and I mounted it on my battery out of the way of most major heat sources. i"m pleasantly suprised at how well it works so far. (First thing I've built that worked first time around :7

Holy Crap!!! Wash that engine bay... I can't see anything but dirt... Is that a 4X4? wowsers...

hehe. That looks good, but I dont run anything directly off my battery except for my main 0 Ga. cable for the stereo sys. Everything else is run off of switched power.

Ummmm, thats no to safe, you just left all your conections open to the waether. you should do like I did, run a 10g wire to the inside and use a relay to turn everything on in off

i was thinking he should put that in the glove box with a 10gauge wire as a power source.

Yeah first of clean that engine bay. Second do what HondaHater suggested...its your best bet. I will give you a week before everything stops working that is connected to that box. Just my .02 cents.

Well, we'll see what happens I guess. I built that SOB to last though. I should have taken a picture of the inside for you guys before I seled it up, on the inside every contact that the wires are connected to is soldered very well, and non of the wires are exposed to air inside the box, I put a layer or bathroom caulk over everything to keep moisture from building up inside the box on the wires, and to keep something from jarring loose and shorting out. The contacts up top are aluminum so they shouldn't corrode or rust very easily. and the way its positioned, right between the ECU an the battery should keep it pretty safe from the elements. If water made it that far up into the engine bay I'd have bigger problems to worry about.

A friend of mine built one just like it using that same box from Radio Shack. He ran a fused power wire into the car, then connected it to the box. It's hidden in his center console behing his cd player. It works perfectly, and makes it much easier to wire up new toys. :)

I think you should go with the extra fuse box, i think its even cheeper then $25. Plus you can use a fuse for each connection, then just run it to a couple toggle switches. I did it for my accessories and I keep the fuse box in the car hidden behind the center console, so when you wanna add something, just pop off one side and connect your wires.

high or not, water goes anywhere and they are speaker temanals, they dont seal well. Just run a 10g wire and you will be set, My batter has a block that distributs power to 1 4g, 1 8g,1 10g inside and its all fused and safe. trust me

PS- in the future you will be taking out the led washer lights like everyone eles has, so if you take them out now you wont have to run the wires later :)

:) I dont even use the damn washer lights honestly. They are wired cause I got bored one day (and they are on a seperate switch (not my headlight switch), but I bought the things because somehow one of my washer nozzels just dissapeared one day and there was a hole i my hood where it used to be, and those were the only thing the auto parts store had.

They look good when turned off, serving their fluid spraying purpose by day, but when you see them at night lit up they are kind of ghey.
