53473, Anyone ever done this?
Posted by Shockeclipse, Jul-23-03 03:22 PM
Ok the guy at the shop where my car is being done told me about this place near me that I can go to and tell them the paint code for my color, and they will put it in a spray can for me. I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried doing this (for painting interior etc) and how the color came out. Sounds as if it would be a perfect match but you never know.

www.towerpaint.com sells ppg factory paint in 16oz. cans for like $14.95 i think. It's a one step process so you don't need to do base then clear. I'm ordering this week, i'm using this after i finish fiberglassing all my interior pieces. I'll let you know how it looks.

A friend of mine just had graphics painted on his car, something like 1967 Hunter Orange...something weird like that. Anyway, he went to PPG and told them the color and he got 2 cans for somewhere around $37. The color matched perfect.

"something like 1967 Hunter Orange"

I think you mean Hugger Orange.
Chevy had a color called that.^

There is a place a few miles from me that will put any color you want in a spray can.
Its called Colorite, a friend of mine works there.
