i'm almost done installing my 2nd blitz front and from what i've seen these kits are going down hill after the aftermarket bodykit boom (when fast and the furious came out). I was the first person to have the kit on in the northeast, i think 7 months before the fast and furious came out. When i recieved it then, it was hand laid fiberglass and strong as shit. it took an accident sereval years later to even begin cracking, and half a year after that to start breaking off piece by piece. That was then. sure the bumper itself cost like 500. but, when i brought the new bumper for 130, i thought to myself that since it was being mass produce , prices dropped for competition between companies. Holy shit was i wrong. goddamn, one hit and the bumper could split right in half. it was a type of sprayed on fiberglass, with only primer holding the whole shit together. WEAK!! wow. how things have changed. anybody that probaly brought a bodykit back then knows what i'm talking about. the only thing i could think of is that the companies that made this for is for 17 year old kids that had their moms brought them a car and for them to put on a kit themselves (reason being it's more flexible). HEH! maybe i'm wrong and i got what i payed for. but this kit is coming off. anyone knows a decent company that still made this style blitz that is actually durable?? PEACE! BTW: i'll take some pictures of a comparison between the two if anyone wants it. Both kits was purchased from VIS racing.

hell dude, thats the way everything is....not just body kits. especially when some craze comes along like body-kits. before F&F body kit mfg's could take their sweet time making kits cuz not alot of people bought them. now they have to throw them together as fast as they can just to keep up with the trend. and then they wanna make more of a profit so they use cheaper materials and still keep the price the same....that way they get a bigger profit margin AND when it breaks you have to buy another one.

so companies are doing to the bodykits what sony is doing playstations eh? nothing is looking better than oem right now, goddammit

my front's low as hell, but it's very nice fiberglass. Very thick and very strong. I was really impressed in the durability of my old erebuni front as well. It took hitting a dog at 50 MPH to finally take that 1 out. Basically, VIS and these supplying companies are going to have cheaper quality kits. VIS is pretty good tho compared to a lot I have seen. Kaminari, Erebuni, Veilside, Bomex, wings west, stillen, etc. are going to be your best ones, but they will be expensive.

Old School kits better? Maybe, but all thats really needed to make a fiberglass bumper stronger is more fiberglass.

true, more fiberglass make a bodykit stronger and that's what probaly my whole point. they're not putting enough fiberglass on. are you suggesting i reinforce the bumper?? pics soon

yo, i hit a bump yesterday and the new one split right in half in the middle of traffic. So the answer to my own question is.....Yes, old skool kit are better. the new one have less then half a millemeter of fiberglass. DAMN!!! PIC SOON!! after i get the oem one back one on.. OEM RULES!!!!!x( x( x( x(

Perhapse you should get it through a differetn company. I have heard from a few peeps htat VIS themselves have gone downhill in the quality department. I cannot speak for all, but my Sinsei from Importfan.com is quite strong and has dealt with alot of punishment from a first time aftermarket bumper owner. My friends Bomex kit fit awesome, but it is thin as all hell and when he brought it in to get painted it had pinholes all over the place. It took 10 hours to prep and paint it. IMO, i would try a different company if you wanna go aftermarket.

import fan makes strong kit, i know i have hit the curb atleast 10 times (including a full out slide head on with ice) and it held togeather. I know i might have strengthened it a little when i filled the scoops at the bottom of the inside of the bumper with fiberglass and added a couple layers on the backside
