some of you might have read in other forums that i wreaked my car. i was out visiting it today and looking over the damage again. i got to thinking how is the quarter panel attached? i'm pretty sure that it is welded but not for curtin. some one tellme please. also if it i welded could someone in Detroit tell me a good shop to go to? TIA

Yes, it is welded on.

the quarter panel is one of the main structural parts to a unibody, it is cast in with the rest of the structure. To replace one it has to be sectioned. On our cars it is fairly easy to section in, seeing as how we done any visiable connections with the quarter and any other panel, it's all hidden with either glass or the bumper cover or tail light, etc. To section one on there is a set standard to sectioning certain peices to certain types of cars, each car has its own procedure. Any reputable shop should be able to do it. The hardest part to sectioning is striping basically all of the inside piececes to get to the parts to cut out.
