hey all,

i have looked all over the f**kin' net and i cant seem to find some actual clear tail lights anywhere. i dont want altezza or the typical euro's;i want plain clear. my eclipse is white so it would match great and be oh so clean. also i'm trying to find somewhere to get a clear middle panel for the rear.i've seen some on eclipses that look foggy clear like the lights, but i've also seen a couple that are crystal clear (see-through) and have a design visible on the inside. if anyone out there can offer some help i'd be most appreciative. thanks, TwinDragons:thumbsup

Yes they did, and I just got them in the mail today!}( Yes they are illegal, but I am getting stationed in Germany in December, so I am going to wait until then to put them on!:thumbsup I would keep checking ebay, that might be your best bet. The only crystal clear centers are the altezza ones or the ones that say "sports". You could probably get an altezza center and do some mods to it.

they might be "illegal" but i've been pulled over plenty of times with mine on, and i've never once been ticketed for them, or even asked about them... (oh... i bought them on ebay over a year ago for 100.00... the only place i've been able to find them)

Not sure if the laws are the same nationally, but in Ohio they are legal as long as there is some kind of red reflective surface on the back of your car, like maybe tint your reverse lights red for example. Of course that's no guarantee some cops won't give you a hard time about it.

You might want to see about getting some amber turn signals for your tails too. It will attract less attention from herr Polezei.

I got pulled over two weeks agon on 270 in columbus ohio. the f'n pig gave me a $77 ticket for no front plate. then he decided to tell me how my tails were illegal because you have to have "two reflective surfaces". He then told me they have to be a certain size and be within code. But the Fag couldnt tell me what the code was. I figure who cares. I will not mount a plate or change my tails. I have had the car with no plate for two years and the tails for like 6 months.

Sorry to ramble. I just hate cops. HATE THEM!!!!

Yea, I've paid the $77 front plate tax 3 times now. Columbus cops (and I'm sure many others) consider everybody ignorant and will write you a ticket when they know it's bs because so few people actually fight them. I've beaten a couple tix for my exhaust (always Sawmill Rd) because the cops know it's legal and just want to harass people they see as a bunch of street racing hooligans. Stick a couple strips of red tape on your rear, take a pic, and go downtown for the court date, I'll bet you skate. Check out how small the reflectors on the back of the new Lexus SUV are. The tape of course is only temporary for the pic. It didn't happen to be officer Radich was it?

You know man I don't even know. I just paid it and said F it. If it happens again though I'm off to the zone for some tape. Columbus cops are so bored. I guess we need somethign exciting to happen to give them somthing to do.

As for the eligal tails... So that little red brake lens in the spoiler, 97 & below, doesn't count? Then again I've been wanting to find the clear one to replace that too. Anyone have the clear break light lens for that? Then my silver eclipse would truely have an ALL SILVER exterior! :P

the law in FL is you must have a red reflective surface from 100ft away

I just keep my parking lights on and then they are red from however many feet away.
