Well something must have hit my car or this heat must have did it, but i have a crack going from the top of the back windshield to about the middle. Its like a hairline crack, its really thin. I was wondering if i could use one of those glass repair kits to fix it, or if i gotta buy a whole new back windshield, thanks in advance.

You're about to have quite a mess on your hands. The back glass, as well as the door glass and the little glass for the back seat, is tempered glass. It's been heated up to make it harder but when it breaks, it will explode into a million different pieces. Your windshield is laminated glass, which means that there is a layer of glue in between 2 pieces of glass. The way the glass repair kit works, is that you drill a hole into the glass and then put more "glue" into the hole and then heat it and the rock chip or whatever will pretty much disappear. If you try to use anything on your back glass, it will explode. You are going to have to get a new back glass and last time that I checked with my parents, (they own a glass shop, and I worked for them for 2 and a half years) the back glass is not a cheap piece. Thanks for the info guys. It turns out that it wasnt cracked, but it had like a substance on it that made if feel cracked. Thank god it came off! Once again, thanks for the replies

from what i know to repir a window the crack cant be longer than a doller bill, but thats the front window. i dont know about the rear and your in another state than me and they might have different rules about windows.

Yea, it scared the sh*t outta me. I was at BP gettin sum gas, and saw it, and was like oh sh*t!!! Then i felt it and it felt cracked. Bout pissed on myself! But then i scraped my fingernail on it, and it came off. I feel like a stupid ass now, but i guess i'll learn eventually lol. Thanks guys

wouldnt it be cheaer to buy a hatch off a junkyard car and get a it painted? just a thought
