is it possible to change the color of the blinker inside the headlights, i noticed even if changed the bulb, the plastic housing is still orange.

Go to the main site and get the directions on how to take apart the headlights, then remove the amber lenses. Then you can add any color bulb you want. FYI, I had to take off the bumper to get the lights out, but that is much easier then it sounds.:thumbsup

Hey guys, just wanted to start off by saying hi. This is my first post on this board, though I have been reading it religiously for about 4 months or so. Lotta great info!

Well, onto the question at hand...I guess you could change the color of the blinker. If you remove the headlight, take off the 6 or so metal clips, and bake it in a 200-250 degree oven for about 5-8 minutes you will be able to pull the headlight assembly apart (held together by some black/grey gooey stuff). The orange piece is held in by a small screw. You can simply remove the orange thing to "clear" the headlight, or you can fab up one of a different color and slap it in there. Doing either will likely get you pulled over or give you trouble with inspections. This would also be a good time to paint the inside of the headlight housing, if your into that (I did). When your all done, push the two pieces of the headlight assembly back together as best you can, slap it back into the oven for the same ammount of time, then push the metal clips back on and let it cool down.

BTW, the headlight assembly is held in by 4 10mm bolts. One on the top, two on the sides nearest to the turn signals, and one underneath the assembly between the low and high beams. Everyone says that is the hardest one to get to, but I had no problem (even with stock 97-99 front end). What I did was pry the bumper down a lil bit with a screwdriver and slid in two 6" long 1/4" drive extensions with one of those universal swivel things on the end between the headlight and the bumper. You DO NOT need to remove the bumper to get the headlights out! Hope this helps and gimme a shout if you need anymore info...I just did this stuff last weekend so its still fresh in my head.

also note, doing a search would have brought up topics from last year when i painted my headlight housings and did a write up for it along with others. oh behold the power of the search (for the newbies):thumbsup
