I havnt taken pics for a while...so I went out and took some today. I mounted my intercooler up (the piping isn't on yet because I'm waiting on nitrile elbows...backorder sucks), also moved my battery to the trunk in order to make room for my intercooler piping and catch can. Slowly but surely I'm clening my engine up and making it look nice...it's in it's early stages...anyhow here they are.

Here's the engine bay, just imagine silver stage2 piping and black couplings...no orange crap -- it should look good.

here's my battery box in the trunk, the strap goes all the way around it and it bolted down, it's solid. And those black tubes are my bass tubes..lol -- I got them for free, but you'd be surprised how good they sound.




Putting the battery in the trunk weighed it down noticably, now the ride height is even all around :-D You'd be surprised, the battery weighs like 80lbs!

Thanks for the compliments -- My intercooler piping is all custom pipes. Some JCWhiteny pipes, some 1G pipes and some straight aluminum pipes I got from lowes all used in unison - I cantw ait to put it on, it's all silver too- so it'll match my valve cover.

where did you get the kit for the battery relocation kit anyway? and how do the wires get to the trunk? is it a complete kit with the box for the battery?

Excellent!

The battery relocation is much easier than you think.

Materials:

Battery box -- $12 at Autozone
20 feet of 2gauge wire -- $20
2 battery terminals - 5$ Autozone
2 ring terminals - $5

1)That battery box straps down in the back, perferrably in the center so the weight is distributed evenly. (Its heavy)

2)Remove the battery from the engine by simply removing the battery tray bolts and tie down rod....it's easy. As far as the 'connections' on the battery, just remove them and leave them hanging in the engine bay for now. After that, set the battery in the battery box.

3)Tighten the new battery terminals you bought onto the battery's positive and negative posts.

4)Cut your 2 gauge wire into one 16 foot piece, and one 4 foot piece - and add a one ring terminal on the end of each of them. Using the ring terminal side of your 4 foot piece, run the wire under the trunk area near the spare and under one of the bolts down there - this will be your ground.

5)With the 16 foot piece, run the wire from your battery to the engine bay however you like, just make it pretty. I ran mine under my 'carpet kit' (Thanks SilverNT) and under the door trim, then thorugh the steering boot. Now you have the end of that wire with the ring terminal on it, ready in the engine bay -- here you will connect it to your old battery terminal that you removed earlier when the battery was in the engine bay. After you connect the positive you just ran to the old battery terminal, wrap it with electrical tape like mad, you don't want that touching anything. Your old negative terminal is useless now, you can either use it for a ground to other things, or just tuck it away.

Most people think you have to run everything from the engine bay back to the battery, I didn't do that....I just ran a thick ass 2gauge wire from the battery to the engine bay and it acts as a psuedo-battery and just connects to all the old stuff. That's pretty much it. :-D


In this pic, you can see the negative (ground) wire going down to the chasis bolt, and the positive wire leaving the box going to the engine.

Things to check:
Make sure your battery is strapped down GOOD. The battery box with comes with instructions, it's pretty straight forward.

Make sure the power cable and it's connects in the engine bay are covered in electrical tape, you don't want that touching anything.
