Call me ignorant but... Was the 2G eclipse made with the option of a black interior? Reason being as I want to switch from grey to black, and don't really want to go the painting route.

I can't give you a positive answer, but...

I've seen pictures of a few Eclipses with entirely black console, dash, doors, etc.

However, I don't know whether this was stock and only offered in specific models (like how the burgundy interior was only available on the Copper Eclipse) or whether it was painted.

My friends black GSX has a completly black interior.

I agree with you on the paiting of the interior. I think this lowers the resale value tremendously. Looks tacky when your whole dash and doors are a glossy painted color. You can dye your interior black from what I've heard. I'd like to do this too. I have a black and tan interior, I want all black.
