I keep getting small waves in my bondo any advice? Only people that know what the hell they are talking about reply aka people that do body work.

hmm... I've had that problem once or twice.. specially when I had the bondo covered part sit in sun for a day or two. Maybe while it is drying out completly it leaves wave pattern.

anyways.. its nothing a little wet sanding couldn't take care of.

spot it with black primer, to see were the waves are, take piranna putty and razor blade and smooth over imperfections, hand sand

should be it!

exactly what DWAYNE said..... hand sand it and if needed once all sanded it down use the plastic filler as a last step and repeat... let dry and hand sand smooth with a higher grade paper... 360 or above

If the waves are on a part of the bumper that is supposed to be flat (not curved), a sanding block should help you get it nice and even. Try also using less hardener in the bondo so you have more time to smooth it out when you're applying it before sanding.

I already was using the black primer idea (learned that from a guy that did widebodied porsches) and actually had putty on hand so I just had to put the two together and presto :P I already have one area I was working on done :thumbsup took about an hour with letting everything dry, too bad I got a lot left to do before all the body work is done :-( I am getting sick of it. ohh yeah I am using a sanding block also. Thanks guys I just hope when ever it finally gets sprayed it looks good :wary

of course, there are multiple ways to fix the problem once it has occured (as seen above), but this is that major cause of the waves and wrinkles. i seem to always do the same thing, if it makes you feel any better. :P
