i was sprayin off my car today and part of the diamond star on the back of the hatch came off......i want to take it completely off but i dont want a shadow of it still left on there............i want to know what i can do so that u dont see the shadow......would goo gone work or what......i think eclipse's look very clean with the lettering taken off the back and thats what i want to do....

The shadow is caused by paint fade. So if you have an older car then you're gonna get one no matter what you use. To take it off use a heat gun and peel it off, then use goo gone to remove excess adhesive. But like I said, if the paint around it has faded you'll get a shadow.

you have to use a polishing compound to take it out.... that is the look of the fade.... use this after u take the sticker off......

what exactly do u mean by polishing compound?????is it like a cream i just rub in or what.......

Yeah polishing compound is a more abrasive type of polish. It's usually used on older cars or cars with very faded paint. It's found at any auto parts store. There's also rubbing compound which is even more abrasive, but polishing compound should do the trick.

They also sell some type of plastic polish. I forgot what the name was, but it has a picture of a convertible windshield. That stuff works real good on smooth plastic.

i just peeled mine off with a razor blade. then use gasoline to get off all the little sticky pieces and some fade. but i then painted it black so im not sure if i really had a fade on it or not.
